Board election ballots and candidate statements will be sent via U.S. Mail to unit owners on or before Oct. 28. Nevada law requires that all directors be elected by secret written ballot. Only you can vote on your secret ballot, which must be completely filled in and placed in the green envelope marked secret ballot. Seal it and place the green envelope inside the white envelope and mark your name and Somersett address of record on the outside of the white envelope (no need to include your SOME account number).
Mail your ballot or place it in the ballot box at The Club at Town Center. It will not be opened until the Annual Members Meeting on Monday, Nov. 15. Ballots must be received in person or by mail no later than 1 pm on Nov. 15.
No ballots will be accepted at the annual meeting.
Do I have to be a full-time Somersett resident to vote in the SOA Board election?
No. Individuals owning property in Somersett are entitled to one vote per parcel owned, either a residence or an unimproved lot. In order to vote, you must be a ‘member in good standing,’ meaning you are current on all fees.
When should I expect my ballot to arrive?
Ballots were mailed on Oct. 28. Nevada law requires that all directors be elected by secret written ballot. Only you can vote on your secret ballot, which must be completely filled in and placed in the yellow envelope marked “secret ballot,” sealed, then placed inside the white envelope, which should also be sealed. Do not put anything else but the ballot in the white envelope! Please put your name and Somersett address of record on the outside of the white envelope for validation purposes. Your ballot will not be opened until the Annual Members Meeting on Monday, Nov. 15.
How do I return my ballot?
U.S. Mail: The easiest way to return your ballot is to use the return mail envelope included in the voting packet. Mailed ballots must be received by 4 pm on Nov. 15.
In-person: Ballots can also be returned in person to the Ballot Box at The Club at Town Center, located across from the front desk. The deadline to submit a ballot in person is at 4 pm on Nov. 15.
I lost my ballot or did not receive one. What do I do?
Stop by the front desk or contact the SOA Office at 775-787-4500, Monday – Friday, 8 am-5 pm, or email [email protected] Once property ownership has been confirmed, a new ballot will be issued.
I own more than one property and received more than one ballot. Can I return all the ballots in the same envelope to save postage costs?
Yes, so long as each ballot has a property address on it for verification purposes.
